WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS AND COULD THEY BENEFIT YOU?
The healing power of plants is one of natures precious gifts to us. Essential oils are compounds which are extracted from plants to capture their flavours and scents (essence), and overall beneficial properties. Unique aromatic compounds give each essential oil its characteristic essence. Essential oils can be of benefit to your skin, hair, and healthcare and can also be used for aromatherapy and generally help support your wellbeing.
Our ancient ancestors intuitively knew how to use the aromatic plants around them but is something that most of us have long since forgotten or tend to ignore as we look to modern medicine for all our help. Essential oils can have a profound effect on the deepest levels of the body and mind and enhance positive mental and emotional states, as well as increasing our ability to stay healthy. Many oils create an environment that bacteria find inhospitable.
As well as using essential oils for myself I find that the use of essential oils in a diffuser can be a very powerful addition to your Reiki Treatment. As you inhale the gentle aroma your body/mind will start to relax at an even deeper level and begin to heal.
Only by using the pure oil of the plant can we gain from its healing benefits.
